Elkana Bohbot, one of the recently released Israeli hostages, returned to an emotional welcome in Mevaseret Zion on October 19, surrounded by family and a massive crowd of cheering supporters.
Bohbot, visibly overwhelmed, recited a Jewish blessing of gratitude-"Shehechiyanu"-thanking God and the people of Israel for their support during his captivity. He broke down in tears following the prayer and was comforted by family.
His release came under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, in which all 20 surviving hostages were to be returned, along with the bodies of 28 deceased captives.
